Dr. Maria Kazou
Her research interests lie in the field of Food Microbiology, with emphasis on taxonomy, physiology, metabolism, genetics, genomics and proteomics of lactic acid bacteria and yeasts. She also analyzes complex food microbial ecosystems, including table olives, wine grapes and wine, raw milk, dairy products, using omics approaches, such as genomics, metagenomics, and metabolomics, along with advanced bioinformatics tools. She has participated in 16 EU and National Research Projects and has co-authored 30 papers in peer-reviewed International journals along with 12 book chapters, 53 papers in International conferences and 20 papers in National conferences (h-index 18, 2,618 citations; https://www.scopus.com/authid/detail.uri?authorId=56590065400).
